We have read the article published by Stuff New Zealand on 31st July 2018. We feel we have been unfairly portrayed in this article and, with this statement, respond.

Kosmic Fusion is neither religious, nor a cult. It is a movement which we are a part of. Volunteers have joined us in that movement. We hold workshops which our volunteers attend. We do not ‘recruit’ members, nor do we ask for money from our volunteers.

Contrary to what the article says, there is no ‘hierarchy’ in Kosmic Fusion. Neither Sree Maa nor Shri Ji get involved in the volunteers’ personal lives, let alone ‘monitor what they are doing’. Volunteers do not usually live together, or with us.

We strongly reject the accusations made by Iphigenie Amoutsias and Joy Kuo – in particular, any suggestions of any physical or emotional hardship or abuse. Violence and abuse and any kind are abhorrent to us.

Our volunteers were shocked and distressed when they read the Stuff article. They feel it is unfair they were not asked about their experience with Kosmic Fusion. We have asked for their views and many have said they were in fact bullied by Iphigenie and Joy.

We are saddened that Iphigenie and Joy made these accusations. Iphigenie and Joy had personal issues which eventually led to their departure. We wish them the best.

Here are a few comments we received from our volunteers on the Stuff article:

  • “It really breaks my heart to read how Sree Maa Shri Ji and Kosmic Fusion are being made fun of and slandered in this article. It is filled with incorrect facts and suggestive comments”

  • “I am shocked and disgusted at the claims made against Kosmic Fusion!” Kosmic Fusion is not a cult… again I can’t believe such allegations!”

  • “What they have articulated in this article is not the truth. This article is only showing one side of the story, the other is still untold”

We feel we have been vilified and discriminated against because of what we believe. This is not the New Zealand way and has negatively impacted our everyday lives as private citizens. We have found New Zealand to overwhelmingly be a tolerant, peaceful and accepting multicultural society.

With this response we simply hope to show we have nothing to hide. We would like our beliefs to be respected and to be left in peace in the same way as others are in the New Zealand community. We would simply now like to move on with our lives peacefully.

If any members of the media wish to speak to us for further information or clarification, we are very happy to do so.

——- End of Public Statement ——-

We wish to share very important clip from March 2017, this video clip debunks false claims made by Ms Amoutzias and Ms Kuo in the said Stuff article. This short 20 minute clip gives good enough information on the transparency and clarity maintained by Sree Maa & Shri Ji throughout the FiT programme, there was no hierarchy in Kosmic Fusion and their decision to halt the FiT programme as some of the FiT didn’t walk their talk.
