Some Spiritual Preceptor/Guru can be controversial because she or he wants to bring some change in you or the collective unconscious that is rippling into the world around us.

Any kind of Change itself is a controversy in itself, as it is about going against the norm and swimming upstream and challenging the on-going scenarios.

So why pick which Guru is better then the other , best would be to pick up on your own sore wounds and do some primal work on your small self/ego before rejecting or accepting the teachings of various Gurus
